Christian Drug Treatment Centers & 12 Step Process

In America one of every eight people has either drug or alcohol related problems. Some people are addicted to both alcohol and drugs. 40 percent of the people are diagnosed with problems on both these substances. It has been reported that approximately 27 million Americans use illicit drugs and/or they are "heavy drinkers."  16 million out of these 27 million are in need of immediate treatment.

Addiction pushes you towards an unhappy and stressful life. Those who are addicted don’t easily admit that addiction has numerous problems in their life or has deteriorated their health. Gradually an addict alienates himself from his family and friends and fails to contribute effectively to their personal or professional life. Drugs, alcohol and any kind of addiction affect the entire family of the addict. If he is the only earning member, it can lead to serious financial crisis. Sometimes an addict unaware of what he is doing fights for money to buy drugs. This makes the atmosphere at home very disturbing.

The need is to take action and move towards drug treatment and sobriety. Drug treatment centers help in proper rehabilitation of an individual who are suffering from any kind of addiction. Christian drug treatment process is the most effective way of getting treated. Christian drug treatment process incorporates training in anger management, group discussions for co-dependence and 12-step treatment processes that is based on faith and recovery through strength and believe in yourself.

12 step process by the Alcoholic Anonymous group

  1. The addicted individual has to admit that he is into addiction and needs treatment.
  2. Build faith and belief in oneself. Trust a greater power and hold your hope to restore happiness in life.
  3. Have faith in teachings of Bible and Jesus Christ. Christian drug treatment process builds trust to change your life.
  4. Make a searching and fearless moral inventory of yourself.
  5. Admit and surrender to faith and friends and live as a human being.  Always have  a positive attitude towards life
  6. Get ready t to confront dissatisfaction and groom your character.
  7. Deal effectively with shortcomings and get on with the treatment process.
  8.  Compensate for anything you have left undone and is bothering you.
  9. Make direct amends to people who are closer to you
  10.  Continue the treatment process even after leaving the center.
  11.  Practice meditation and prayer. Relieve your tension and stress. Improve your knowledge on your mental and physical health.
  12.  The process is entirely dependent on spiritual awakening

Christian drug treatment centers use Bible study, prayer and other religion-based group codependence process. They have combined traditional psychological, medical treatment with spiritual approach in order to gain success. Faith-based treatment process is more effective treatment as the addict attains a realization that the true meaning of life can be understood only through God. They reconnect with God and develop a consciousness that they were on the wrong path. This makes them kick addiction forever and hence there is no chance of relapse.
